Mobilityways, a leading company in sustainability, transport, and data analytics, has been named a finalist for six prestigious awards. These nominations are in recognition of Mobilityways’ groundbreaking work with Prologis, a global leader in logistics real estate, to reduce commuting emissions. The Department for Transport (DfT) has even championed this collaboration as a best practice case study.

The National Sustainability Awards has shortlisted Mobilityways for the “Sustainable Transport Award,” which honors companies that are making significant strides in reducing emissions and creating carbon-free transportation methods. The company’s partnership with Prologis exemplifies these efforts by utilizing data-driven insights and innovative solutions to reduce Scope 3 commuting emissions at Prologis UK sites.

Mobilityways has also been shortlisted for the Edie Net Zero Awards for the second year in a row, following Managing Director Julie Furnell’s win of the Net Zero Hero award in 2023. This year, the company is nominated with Prologis for the “Transport and Mobility Project of the Year Award.” This partnership has greatly improved public transport and cycling safety for over 10,000 commuters at Prologis RFI DIRFT in Northamptonshire, resulting in enhanced accessibility and reduced carbon emissions. The project has also gained the support of 12 Prologis customers and was endorsed by the former Minister for Decarbonisation, demonstrating the power of collaboration between the public and private sectors.

In addition, Mobilityways has been shortlisted for the “Clean Transport Award” at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards, which recognizes outstanding achievements in sustainable supply chain management. The Prologis-Mobilityways initiative has addressed transportation challenges to logistics facilities by reducing reliance on private vehicles through partnerships with smart bus provider Zeelo and Stagecoach services. These efforts have shown the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainability goals.

Thanks to their partnership with Prologis, Mobilityways has also been shortlisted for the “AI and Data Analytics Award” and the “Transport Planning Award” at the CiTTi Awards, as well as the “Environmental & Sustainability Category” at the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards.

Steven Haddock, Director of Real Estate & Customer Experience at Prologis, expressed his excitement about the recognition: “We’re thrilled that our hard work to support customers is being acknowledged by so many awards bodies. Customer service is of the utmost importance to us, so it’s a sign of our commitment that DIRFT, our flagship site, is being recognized for its transport initiatives to improve access. With sustainability at the core of all that we do, it’s great to see this partnership celebrated for allowing workers to commute in a more eco-friendly and accessible way.”

This partnership has even been recognized by the DfT, with the former Minister for Decarbonisation and Tech visiting in 2023 and championing the Zeelo bus trial project as a best practice case study. The project has achieved impressive results, including a 4% reduction in single occupancy commuting, 56% of employees using the Zeelo bus service, and one retailer experiencing a 500% increase in job applicants due to improved park accessibility. Additionally, car-sharing employees saved an average of £1034 in fuel costs in the last 12 months during the cost-of-living crisis.

Following the success at Prologis RFI DIRFT, the initiative has expanded to eight additional Prologis sites, with plans to roll it out nationwide. The project’s impact goes beyond environmental benefits, contributing to improved access to employment opportunities and reducing transportation costs for commuters.
