London’s prestigious Mayfair district is set to host a ground-breaking exhibition showcasing the evolution and impact of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on the art world. The exhibition, titled “NFT REvolution: I Am Pranksy”, will feature the private collection of renowned digital innovator, investor, and anonymous figurehead of the NFT art movement, Pranksy. The exhibition will take place from October 18-25 at the Asprey Studio.
This exhibition is a momentous occasion, as it marks the first time Pranksy will be opening his private collection to the public. It will offer a rare glimpse into the transformative digital medium that has not only revolutionized the art world, but also the landscape of ownership, value, and creative autonomy.
Pranksy rose to prominence in 2017 with his early involvement in the Cryptokitties phenomenon and has since become one of the most influential figures in the NFT space. “I Am Pranksy: NFT REvolution” will showcase his personal creations as well as his acquisitions of genre-defining works, providing a comprehensive overview of the evolution of NFTs.
According to Pranksy, the exhibition is designed to be an immersive experience that transports viewers back to the origins of NFTs and brings them into the present, where NFTs have become a crucial part of intellectual property, entertainment, and art. “This exhibition is not confined to sterile screens; it’s an adventure through imagination,” he stated.
The exhibition will feature a diverse mix of digital and physical pieces, including a dress from Dolce & Gabbana’s Collezione GenesiMothership collection and a Mercedes AMG F1 car model by @mbsjq. It will also showcase the first subscription-based NFT project on the Ethereum blockchain, NFTboxes.
Beyond aesthetics, the exhibition will delve into the functional dimensions of NFTs, examining their role in securing provenance for digital and physical art, and their transformative use cases in gaming and the immersive digital world. This narrative highlights NFTs’ role as not just artistic artefacts, but also as foundational innovations reshaping ownership, authorship, and the economics of creativity in an increasingly decentralized world.
Magpie, Pranksy’s co-conspirator, noted that the exhibition aims to recrown the punk values that are at the core of the NFT movement. “We’re disrupting the traditional art market and showing you the artists who broke out of the standard mold,” Magpie stated.
The exhibition will also feature an iconic piece from the NFT movement, “We The People” by Josie Bellini, which combines bold aesthetics with a powerful political message. Bellini’s work has been a staple in the NFT landscape, resonating with those who see the blockchain as not just a technological advancement, but also a social revolution.
