Inga Grigaitiene, owner of A & B Guest House in Cambridge, is celebrating 20 years of providing outstanding hospitality in an ever-changing industry.
Beginning her journey in the days of Yellow Pages advertisements, Inga has transitioned to managing a fully digital presence, reflecting the hospitality sector’s evolution.
Over the past two decades, Inga has navigated challenges including economic pressures, a global pandemic, and rising operational costs, yet A & B Guest House has continued to thrive. The property achieved full occupancy during the summer season and was honoured with the e2 Media Award of Excellence.
Cambridge has also evolved, with business travel giving way to international leisure tourism. “Businesspeople used to fill our rooms mid-week, but now it’s predominantly international visitors,” Inga observed, noting the shift in demand post-COVID.
Despite stiff competition from short-term rentals like Airbnbs, Inga has upheld her property’s high standards, welcoming celebrities, dignitaries, and political figures. Booking.com reviews frequently commend her for exceptional service.
Reflecting on her 20-year milestone, Inga said: “The past few years have been particularly challenging with the pandemic and rising costs, but they’ve also taught me the importance of staying flexible and embracing change. I’ve had to make some tough business decisions, but those changes have allowed me to keep delivering exceptional service.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the diverse range of guests I’ve welcomed over the years, from international tourists to high-profile figures. Their positive feedback and loyalty are what keep me motivated. As I look to the future, I’m committed to continuing to evolve and provide the best possible experience for every guest who walks through my doors.”
Celebrating this milestone, Inga looks ahead with a focus on innovation, ensuring A & B Guest House remains a standout in Cambridge’s competitive hospitality scene.
