Forthcoming Novel “Farewell Oz” Takes Readers on a Treacherous Journey Through the Land of Oz

Monday 18 November, 2024 – The beloved Land of Oz has been reimagined in a daring new novel by renowned author and theatre producer, Kieron Knights. Titled “Farewell Oz”, this gripping story is set to reignite readers’ fascination with the magical world just in time for the highly anticipated Wicked movie adaptation. However, this time around, the yellow brick road is more treacherous than ever before, and the stakes are much higher.

Released in print format, “Farewell Oz” presents a world decades after Dorothy’s first adventure, where she is now an older and wiser woman. But when the Wicked Witch of the West mysteriously returns, Dorothy is called back to a land she no longer recognizes. The Emerald City is facing its biggest threat yet, and Dorothy must team up with an unlikely group of allies to confront it. This includes the enigmatic son of the Wizard and a memory-fractured Patchwork Girl. Together, they must not only battle the dangers of Oz but also face the harsh realities of power and greed that mirror our own world.

According to Knights, “Farewell Oz” is more than just a revisit to the beloved world of Oz. It delves deeper into the dark side of power and explores the importance of friendship and unlikely alliances in the face of impossible odds.

With its blend of nostalgia, dark fantasy, and timely social commentary, “Farewell Oz” is a must-read for fans of Gregory Maguire’s “Wicked”, Neil Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book”, and other reimaginings of classic tales. As the excitement for the upcoming Wicked film reaches new heights, this novel is sure to be a captivating addition to the Oz cannon.

“Farewell Oz” is now available for purchase on Amazon in print format.
