Hereford-based charity, Hope Spring, has been recognized for its outstanding efforts in promoting sustainable water practices and alleviating water poverty in underserved communities in Nigeria. The organization was recently honored with the esteemed Water Conservation Award by the Sustainable Empowerment Access Network (SEAN).
The award specifically recognizes the impact of the Ifedayo Community Borehole Project, a joint effort between Hope Spring Water and community representative Comrade Abidemi. This initiative has provided sustainable access to clean water for residents of the Ifedayo community in Kwara State, showcasing the charity’s commitment to grassroots change and innovative partnerships.
Mubarak Oladosu, a trustee of Hope Spring Water, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “The Ifedayo Community Borehole Project has transformed lives and empowered the community with reliable access to clean water. This award is a testament to the power of collective effort and the profound impact of sustainable projects.”
In 2024, Hope Spring Water led several notable projects, including the Adeba-Lekki Clean Water Project, the Orimolade Ifako Community Borehole Project, and the Ifeloju Community Borehole Project. These initiatives addressed critical water challenges while promoting environmental sustainability.
The charity’s innovative eCard platform, Hope Spring Charity eCards, has been a vital source of funding for its projects. The platform, particularly its Christmas eCards section, has enabled the organization to sustain its vital initiatives.
