Taking place from 29 May to 1 June 2025, this one-of-a-kind festival has been carefully designed for families with young children, offering a weekend of discovery, wellbeing, and unforgettable shared adventures.
The Big Family Retreat, a sister event to The Big Retreat Festival (scheduled for 23 to 26 May 2024), provides a unique experience tailored exclusively for families with younger children. While The Big Retreat will continue to welcome families of all ages, this new festival focuses entirely on creating a magical space for parents and children to bond.
Set amidst the breathtaking Pembrokeshire landscape, The Big Family Retreat promises an unparalleled opportunity for families to reconnect, rejuvenate, and make memories in a close-knit and immersive environment.
“While The Big Retreat Festival will always remain family-friendly, we recognised the need to create something just for families—a space where parents and children alike could truly connect, grow, and share new experiences together,” explains Amber Lort-Phillips, Founder of The Big Family Retreat. “This is about celebrating the magic of family life in a way that only a dedicated event like this can achieve.”

The Big Family Retreat was born out of increasing interest in an event that prioritises the needs of families. Unlike The Big Retreat Festival, which has a broader appeal, this new retreat is centred entirely on nurturing the happiness, health, and joy of families with young children.
“Parents often tell us they’re looking for opportunities to reconnect with their children without distractions,” Amber notes. “By designing a retreat exclusively for families, we’re creating a space where parents and kids can share magical moments together, surrounded by the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.”
