Cologne, Germany – In a groundbreaking move for the LGBTQIA+ community, Rainbow Wool has launched the world’s first textile collection made from the wool of gay rams. The collection, which features bold statement pieces, will benefit LSVD+ – the Federation Queer Diversity.

The idea for Rainbow Wool was developed by Serviceplan, a leading global communications agency, and will be distributed by https://pressat.co.uk/.

Homosexuality is still considered a crime in 62 countries around the world, and Rainbow Wool aims to raise awareness and support projects that promote visibility and equality for queer individuals.

The yarn for Rainbow Wool’s collection comes from more than 20 gay sheep at the Stücke farm in Löhne, Germany. The farm, owned by shepherd Michael Stücke, is a member of the Gayfarmer Association and provides a safe haven for gay rams that are often considered “worthless” in industrial farming and are typically killed.

Tokio Hotel Singer Bill Kaulitz, an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, has collaborated with designers Danny Reinke and Kilian Kerner to create a unique fashion collection featuring statement pieces such as shoelaces, patches, and caps. The collection will be available for purchase on the Rainbow Wool website from September 13.

In addition to the fashion collection, the Stücke farm also offers sponsorship opportunities for individuals to support the cause. By sponsoring a sheep, individuals can not only support the production of more Rainbow Wool, but also help save more gay rams from slaughter. Kaulitz himself has already sponsored two sheep – named Karl and Wolli.

Rainbow Wool is also seeking collaborations with fashion companies to incorporate this unique wool into their designs, promoting inclusivity in the fashion world.
