The comfortable reading is that Celestica’s after-hours jump priced a $40 billion 2027 outlook. That reading is wrong. Celestica closed Monday, 26 October 2026, at $246.65 on the NYSE, down $13.36 from Friday’s $260.01. Through 31 December the last 90 daily log-returns put a bull at $324.78, a base at $197.66 and a bear at $141.95. The base sits $48.99 under that close because the mean is negative, and the bull is still under the 20-day average of $333.86.

What the coverage skips is the cash session. The 26 October release raised 2026 revenue to $21.0 billion and set 2027 revenue at $40.0 billion, while cutting free cash flow to $460 million from $600 million. GAAP operating margin fell to 7.9 percent from 10.2 percent even as the adjusted margin rose to 8.5 percent. The filing does not name the three customers at 35, 17 and 14 percent of revenue. Hardware Platform Solutions has to keep shipping for the bull to be revenue rather than a multiple.

Key facts

  • NYSE official close, Monday 26 October 2026: $246.65, down $13.36, or 5.14 percent, from Friday’s $260.01. Open $267.00, high $273.14, low $246.24, volume 6,236,916. Nasdaq historical file for CLS, which labels the listing NYSE, saved 27 October 2026. Nasdaq historical endpoint.
  • Same file, 27 October 2026: 20-day average $333.86, so the close is $87.21, or 35.36 percent, under it. 50-day average $327.15, so the close is $80.50, or 32.64 percent, under it. Prior five sessions, 20 to 26 October: high $314.45, low $246.24.
  • Nasdaq quote snapshot, 6:39 a.m. Eastern on 27 October 2026: premarket last sale $288.202. Not the formula spot. 52-week range on that page: $244.51 to $474.02. Morningstar recorded after-hours $288.07, up 17 percent, and said the shares were down 17 percent this year.
  • Company release, 26 October 2026: revenue $5.83 billion, up 83 percent from $3.19 billion. GAAP EPS $3.26, against $2.31. Adjusted EPS $3.30, against $1.58, up 109 percent. Adjusted operating margin 8.5 percent, against 7.6 percent. GAAP operating margin 7.9 percent, against 10.2 percent. Q3 release.
  • Same release: 2026 revenue outlook $21.0 billion, from $20.5 billion, and adjusted EPS $11.55, from $11.30. Free cash flow cut to $460 million from $600 million. 2027 outlook: revenue $40.0 billion, up 90 percent, adjusted operating margin 9.0 percent, adjusted EPS $21.50, capital spending $1.5 billion to $2.0 billion. Fourth-quarter guide: revenue $6.275 billion to $6.575 billion, adjusted EPS $3.37 to $3.57.
  • Form 10-Q for the quarter ended 30 September 2026: offices at 5140 Yonge Street, Suite 1900, Toronto, Ontario, M2N 6L7. Three CCS customers were 35 percent, 17 percent and 14 percent of revenue. Top 10 customers were 85 percent. Hardware Platform Solutions revenue about $2.3 billion, up 70 percent, 40 percent of the quarter. Net earnings $397.2 million, against $267.8 million. SEC filing.
  • StockAnalysis forecast page, fetched 27 October 2026, citing S&P Global: 22 analysts, Strong Buy, average target $468.36, median $465, low $375, high $550. Daniel Zhu at Bernstein maintained $520 that day. Those are one-year marks, not this bull or this bear. Forecast page.
  • House path from the $246.65 NYSE close, not a broker target: bull $324.78, base $197.66, bear $141.95. N is 46. Mean log-return -0.00481305. Sample standard deviation 0.04881224. The drifted bull stays above the close, so the no-drift figure of $405.27 is not used.

What just happened, and why the obvious reading is wrong

Two prints are being treated as one. Celestica issued third-quarter results after the cash close on Monday. The cash session ended at $246.65. Morningstar’s after-hours figure of $288.07, and a Nasdaq info sale of $288.202 at 6:39 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, are later markets. Donald Dean, an economist and technical analyst, posted at 21:11 GMT on Monday that the after-hours print he was watching was $274.07, up 11.3 percent, and he flagged the free-cash cut to $460 million. That status is a trader’s tape, not the official close. The closes used here are Monday’s completed NYSE print.

The obvious reading takes the $40.0 billion 2027 outlook and the after-hours jump. The cash session did the opposite: down $13.36, or 5.14 percent, on 6,236,916 shares, closing $0.41 above the low of $246.24. Monday finished near the bottom of a 52-week range that runs to $474.02. It is not a stock that has already rerated to 2027.

The margin lines do not say one thing. GAAP earnings from operations were 7.9 percent of revenue, against 10.2 percent a year earlier. Adjusted operating margin was 8.5 percent, against 7.6 percent, and the release calls 8.5 percent another new high. Net earnings were still $397.2 million, against $267.8 million. Adjusted EPS of $3.30, up 109 percent from $1.58, is the headline. The GAAP margin compression is what that headline leaves out.

Free cash flow moved the other way. The 2026 outlook lifted revenue by $0.5 billion and cut free cash flow by $140 million, to $460 million, to fund working capital ahead of 2027 capital spending of $1.5 billion to $2.0 billion. The bull is a price path. It is a revenue outcome only if those programs keep shipping.

Who is exposed

The 10-Q lists the principal executive offices at 5140 Yonge Street, Suite 1900, Toronto, Ontario, M2N 6L7. Shares trade on the NYSE and the TSX. This chart is the NYSE series in US dollars. Three CCS customers were 35 percent, 17 percent and 14 percent of third-quarter revenue, and the top 10 were 85 percent. The filing does not name them. Holders are exposed to those three buyers first.

CCS revenue was $4,872.3 million, 84 percent of the quarter, against 76 percent a year earlier. Advanced Technology Solutions was $957.4 million, 16 percent, against 24 percent. Networking revenue rose $1,320.3 million, or 68 percent. Compute and Storage rose $1,139.0 million, or 242 percent. Hardware Platform Solutions is the named program inside that mix. The release puts HPS revenue at about $2.3 billion, up 70 percent, and the filing says that was 40 percent of the quarter, from program ramps across multiple hyperscaler customers. Mionis did not name them. The 35 percent customer is not in the pages saved here.

The 16 October note is a platform, not a booked line. The Data Center Engineer reported the DS6005, a liquid-cooled switch rated up to 102.4 Tbps. Gavin Cato, senior vice president and general manager, Portfolio Solutions and AI Platform Engineering, said: “The DS6005 brings co-packaged optics, liquid cooling, field-replaceable external laser modules, and CPO-aware software management together in a compact platform designed to help customers build scalable and power-efficient AI fabrics.” The page says Broadcom vice president Manish Mehta called the system production-ready. Optics spending elsewhere is a separate tape: Lumentum, Coherent, Ciena and Corning.

The filing says export controls, component constraints and customer roadmaps can delay programs. That is the bear’s operating version. A peer path is separate: Super Micro. So is the customer capex debate: the $700 billion capex trade. ATS is the non-data-center book: industrial stocks and the AI trade.

What the tape and the filing show

The chart is the NYSE official daily close from the Nasdaq historical file, which labels the listing NYSE. It runs through Monday’s $246.65, with daily lows and both moving averages. The marker is that close, not the after-hours print.

NYSE official daily closes for CLS through Monday 26 October 2026. The series was downloaded from the Nasdaq historical endpoint, which labels the listing NYSE. The top panel includes the daily lows. FinanceFeeds chart, 27 October 2026.

The close is $87.21 under the 20-day average of $333.86 and $80.50 under the 50-day average of $327.15. It is $67.80 under the prior five-session high of $314.45 and $0.41 above the low of $246.24. The bull at $324.78 would not retake the 20-day average. A no-drift bull prints at $405.27 and was not used, because the drifted bull is already above $246.65. The negative drift is why $324.78 still sits about $9.08 under $333.86.

Reading Figure What it is, and what it is not
Official close $246.65 on 26 October NYSE daily close. The formula spot. Not the TSX print.
Later prints $274.07, then $288.07, then $288.202 premarket Not the spot and not the last chart bar.
Averages 20-day $333.86. 50-day $327.15. The close and the bull are under the 20-day line.
HPS About $2.3 billion, 40 percent of the quarter, up 70 percent. The named program that has to keep shipping.
Street, separate Average $468.36. Low $375. High $550. Bernstein $520. StockAnalysis page on 27 October. Not this title.
House bull, base, bear $324.78, $197.66, $141.95 46 sessions and the last 90 log-returns.

Nine-month free cash flow was $412.5 million. The full-year outlook of $460 million therefore leaves little incremental cash after September, which is what the cut from $600 million is saying.

What Celestica said, and what it did not name

Rob Mionis, chair and chief executive of Celestica, in the 26 October release: “Celestica’s strong momentum continued in the third quarter, achieving revenue of $5.83 billion and adjusted EPS (non-GAAP)* of $3.30, up 83% and 109%, respectively.” The next sentence is the margin claim: “Our adjusted operating margin (non-GAAP)* of 8.5% represents another new high for the company, demonstrating the strength of our operational execution.” He then raised 2026 to revenue of $21.0 billion and adjusted EPS of $11.55, “representing growth of 69% and 91%, respectively,” and set 2027 at revenue of $40.0 billion, adjusted operating margin of 9.0 percent and adjusted EPS of $21.50.

The demand sentence is the one the after-hours tape traded. “Celestica is well-positioned to continue to support leading hyperscalers and frontier AI labs through the ongoing AI infrastructure supercycle. The demand environment continues to be very robust, supporting our 2027 revenue outlook, with customer demand forecasts meaningfully higher for 2028.” That is a forecast about unnamed customers. It is not a list of purchase orders, and it is not a share price. The release does not print a 2028 revenue dollar.

The saved pages do not name the buyer behind 35 percent of the quarter. The company set the results call and investor day for 27 October at 8:00 a.m. Eastern. This piece does not use oral remarks from that call. Cato’s sentence describes a platform. It does not put the DS6005 inside the $2.3 billion. The fourth-quarter guide is the near shipping test: revenue of $6.275 billion to $6.575 billion and adjusted EPS of $3.37 to $3.57. Canada News Media, reporting the same release, said prior guidance was US$5.25 billion to US$5.55 billion. The quarter beat that band. The cash session still closed down.

Financing tension: the offering, the cash cut, and the bid

On 7 August 2026 Celestica completed a public offering of 11,129,031 common shares, including the underwriters’ option of 1,451,612, at $310. The release rounds gross proceeds at $3.45 billion. The 10-Q records net proceeds of $3,391.3 million after discounts and expenses of $58.7 million, for working capital, capital expenditure and general corporate purposes. That is the same use of cash the free-cash outlook was just cut to fund. The equity raise and the lower free-cash guide are one plan: growth is being financed, not harvested.

As of 21 October 2026, 126,111,808 common shares were outstanding. The 2025 issuer bid runs until the earlier of 2 November 2026 or completion, up to 5,722,527 shares. At 30 September about 5.4 million remained. The release says Celestica intends to file a new bid after that expiry. If the Toronto Stock Exchange accepts it, repurchases over twelve months could reach 2.5 percent of the public float. A new bid uses cash. It does not restore the $140 million cut from the free-cash outlook. StockAnalysis also shows an S&P Global revenue forecast of $20.57 billion this year and $37.98 billion next year, which is not the company’s $21.0 billion and $40.0 billion.

What happens next

On 2 November 2026 the current issuer bid expires. If the exchange accepts a new notice, purchases of up to 2.5 percent of the public float can start. That cannot turn $460 million of guided free cash back into $600 million, and it cannot name the 35 percent customer.

The fourth quarter ends 31 December 2026, the same day this price horizon ends. The guide is revenue of $6.275 billion to $6.575 billion and adjusted EPS of $3.37 to $3.57. If Hardware Platform Solutions stays near 40 percent of revenue, the unnamed customers are still shipping and a move toward $324.78 can be read as revenue. If one of the three large CCS customers delays a program, the lower band is $141.95, not the street low of $375.

The 31 December close is 46 sessions from Monday. Thanksgiving on 26 November and Christmas on 25 December are out. The early closes on 27 November and 24 December count. If the negative mean simply continues, the base is $197.66. The 8:00 a.m. Eastern call on 27 October can add names. It cannot rewrite Monday’s $246.65. This is not financial advice.

Bull, base, and bear

The title numbers are this distribution, not a broker target. No English FinanceFeeds Celestica bull and bear title was found, so the year-end pair stands. A ten-session path through 9 November was computed and not used: bull $296.30, base $235.06, bear $201.44. TD Cowen and UBS were at $430, CIBC at $500, and FBN Securities initiated at $375. That low is still $50.22 above this bull.

The spot is Monday’s $246.65 NYSE close. Mu, the mean of the last 90 daily log-returns, is -0.00481305. Sigma, the sample standard deviation, is 0.04881224. N is 46. The square root of 46 is 6.78233. N times mu is -0.221400. Sigma times that square root is 0.331061. One and a half times that is 0.496591.

Base is the spot times e to the power of -0.221400, raw 197.66432, which rounds half up to $197.66, down $48.99, or 19.86 percent. Bull uses the exponent 0.275191, raw 324.78429, which rounds half up to $324.78, up $78.13, or 31.68 percent. Bear uses -0.552461, raw 141.95492, which rounds half up to $141.95, down $104.70, or 42.45 percent. The bull is above the spot, so the drift stays in. It is still $9.08 under the 20-day average because that mean is negative. The unused no-drift bull is $405.27, a sensitivity, not the title.

Case Price Versus the $246.65 spot What has to be true
Bull $324.78 Up $78.13, or 31.68 percent The negative drift continues and 31 December finishes 1.5 standard deviations above it. Hardware Platform Solutions and the three unnamed CCS customers keep shipping, so the move is not only a multiple.
Base $197.66 Down $48.99, or 19.86 percent Only the mean of the last 90 sessions continues for 46 sessions. The $40.0 billion outlook is not an input.
Bear $141.95 Down $104.70, or 42.45 percent The same drift minus one standard deviation. A delay at one of the 35, 17 or 14 percent customers fits this better than a multiple reset alone.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the sessions through 31 December 2026 put a fresh Celestica bull and bear, and which program has to keep shipping?

The bull is $324.78 and the bear is $141.95, with a base of $197.66, from the $246.65 NYSE close on 26 October. Forty-six sessions and the last 90 log-returns produce that pair, and the mean is negative. The filing does not name the 35, 17 and 14 percent customers. Hardware Platform Solutions, about $2.3 billion, is the program that has to keep shipping for the bull to be revenue rather than a multiple.

Why is the $324.78 bull still under the 20-day average?

Because the 90-day drift is negative and the formula keeps it. The bull is the close times e to the power of 46 times the mean, plus 1.5 standard deviations, which prints at $324.78. That is about $9.08 under the 20-day average of $333.86 and still above $246.65. The no-drift upside of $405.27 was calculated and not used. Dropping the drift would have invented a calmer path than the sample shows.

Are the bull and the bear Street targets?

No. They are the year-end distribution on Monday’s official close. StockAnalysis, citing S&P Global on 27 October, showed an average target of $468.36, a low of $375 and a high of $550 across 22 analysts. Bernstein’s Daniel Zhu was at $520 the same day. TD Cowen and UBS were at $430. Those marks answer a different question from the next 46 sessions, and none of them is the title.

What did the cash session do on the day of the outlook?

It fell. Celestica closed at $246.65, down 5.14 percent from Friday’s $260.01, on 6,236,916 shares, after trading between $246.24 and $273.14. Morningstar recorded an after-hours print of $288.07. A Nasdaq info snapshot at 6:39 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday showed $288.202. Donald Dean’s Monday post had $274.07. None of those later prints replaces the official close in the formula.

What is the financing tension in the 2027 outlook?

The company cut 2026 free cash flow to $460 million from $600 million to fund working capital, and it guided 2027 capital spending at $1.5 billion to $2.0 billion. It also holds $3,391.3 million of net proceeds from the 7 August share sale at $310. The current issuer bid expires on 2 November 2026. A new bid, if accepted, spends cash. It does not repair the free-cash cut or name the largest customer.

Does the lower GAAP margin change the bull?

It changes the quality of the earnings, not the arithmetic. GAAP operating margin was 7.9 percent, against 10.2 percent a year earlier, while the adjusted margin was 8.5 percent, against 7.6 percent. Net earnings were still $397.2 million, against $267.8 million. The bull does not assume either margin. It assumes the recent daily drift plus 1.5 standard deviations, and it still needs the HPS programs to ship.
