Updated 7 November 2026. Oracle closed Friday 6 November at $116.10, up 0.82 percent, after swinging between $109.21 and $119.47 (Yahoo Finance data). The intraday low is a fresh 52-week low, below Thursday’s $111.66. On Thursday the stock fell 6.93 percent to $115.16 as AI infrastructure names sold off after the midterm elections. Friday’s close sits just above the $116 price at which Oracle sold 86.2 million new shares on 2 November. Verdict: the market is pricing the $20 billion raise, the debt load and the cancelled Tencent deal together, and the stock is pinned to its offering price. Reference levels: $108.05 below, $123.73 above.

Key facts

  • Close: $116.10 on Friday, up 0.82 percent; day range $109.21-$119.47 (Yahoo Finance data).
  • Thursday: closed at $115.16, down 6.93 percent from Wednesday’s $123.73, after touching $111.66 (Yahoo Finance).
  • The raise: on 2 November Oracle priced 86,206,897 shares at $116, for about $9.9 billion of net proceeds, plus $10 billion of senior notes in five series with coupons from 7.000 to 8.650 percent (Oracle pricing release and SEC filing).
  • Discount: the $116 offering price was 11.2 percent below the $130.67 close on 30 October (424B5 prospectus supplement).
  • Debt: borrowings of about $125.3 billion at 31 August, and negative free cash flow of $23.7 billion in fiscal 2026 (company filings, via our desk coverage). Moody’s rates Oracle Baa2 with a negative outlook.
  • Tencent: the Financial Times reported on 4 November that Oracle dropped a roughly $7 billion, five-year deal to rent Tencent about 100,000 AI chips in Southeast Asia after U.S. officials raised concerns (Motley Fool, citing the FT).

Why Oracle keeps falling

Three things are hitting the stock at once. The first is the raise. At its 28 October investor day Oracle pledged to raise no more than $20 billion of new money through fiscal 2030, split roughly evenly between equity and debt. Five days later it raised the whole $20 billion in one go. Our desk covered the day of the announcement and the settlement on 4 November. The new shares have been tradable since then, and on Friday the stock spent much of the session below $116 before closing ten cents above it.

The second is the cost of the debt. The new notes carry coupons of 7 to 8.65 percent, which adds roughly $777 million a year in interest. That is a high price for an investment-grade borrower and shows how much extra return bond buyers want to fund Oracle’s data center build-out.

The third is the sector. On Thursday AI infrastructure stocks fell hard after the Democratic midterm sweep raised fears of tighter limits on data center power and construction (Motley Fool), and the Nasdaq fell 5.52 percent into a correction (Investing.com). Our Nvidia coverage has the wider picture, and our IREN analysis shows how hard the neocloud names were hit. Oracle, which is borrowing to build capacity for AI customers, sits in the same trade.

No new company-specific news was reported on Friday to explain the drop to $109.21; the stock recovered the whole move by the close.

How far Oracle has fallen

Oracle closed at $130.67 on 30 October, before the raise. At $116.10 it is about 11 percent lower in five sessions, and its 52-week high was about $250 (Google Finance, CNBC). The stock gained 10.73 percent on 28 October after the investor day, when Oracle said it expects revenue above $225 billion by fiscal 2030, and gave all of that back within days. Our earlier Oracle stock analysis from October has the OpenAI contract background.

Oracle stock: bull, base and bear

Scenario ORCL What has to happen Anchor
Bear $108.05 The AI sell-off resumes next week and holders of the new shares sell below the $116 offering price. A repeat of Thursday’s 6.93 percent fall from Friday’s $116.10 close; below Friday’s $109.21 low.
Base $109-$119.50 The stock stays in Friday’s range while the market digests the new supply of shares and bonds. Friday’s $109.21 low and $119.47 high (Yahoo Finance data).
Bull $123.73 AI infrastructure stocks recover from the midterm sell-off and Oracle pulls clear of the offering price. Wednesday’s close, before the rout; about 6.6 percent above Friday’s close.

The bear case sits below Friday’s close. These are short-term reference levels measured from the verified closing price, not forecasts. Analyst targets sit far higher: MarketBeat puts the consensus at about $249, but most of those targets were set before the raise and the sell-off.

What to watch

  • The $116 line: whether Oracle can hold above the price of the 2 November share sale next week.
  • Analyst notes: target cuts after the raise and the Tencent report.
  • Bond prices: how the new 7-8.65 percent notes trade; wider spreads would mean more stress.
  • The AI trade: whether the post-midterm sell-off in data center stocks continues.
  • Earnings: fiscal second-quarter results, expected in mid-December (CNBC lists 14 December).

Quick take: Oracle closed at $116.10 on Friday after a new 52-week low of $109.21, barely above the $116 price of its 2 November share sale. The $20 billion raise, the 7-8.65 percent cost of the new debt, the cancelled Tencent deal and Thursday’s AI rout are all weighing on the stock. Expect $109-$119.50; $108.05 needs the sell-off to resume, $123.73 needs AI infrastructure to recover.
