Glasgow-based Sprung Gym Flooring has recently received a surge of requests to supply floors for three global movie and TV productions. The company, which specializes in commercial and home gym flooring, as well as sports mats and tiles, has been asked to provide flooring for the sets of ‘Mr Loverman’, ‘Mutiny’ (starring Jason Stratham), and ‘The Woman in Cabin 10’ (starring Keira Knightly).

This comes as no surprise, as Glasgow has been established as a world center for film production, with big-budget movies like World War Z and Indiana Jones previously being filmed in the city center. As a result, local businesses have seen a boom in requests for sets, costumes, and extras.

Sprung Gym Flooring has provided a sprint track for Mutiny, rubber gym flooring rolls for The Woman in Cabin 10, and will be supplying tatami mats for Mr Loverman. In addition to film sets, the company also offers flooring for schools, nurseries, and hotels, and has even installed floors at Manchester United’s training facilities and branches of Soho House. They have also provided flooring for several venues at the last Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow.

According to Managing Director Richard McKay, Glasgow’s role as a production center for the global film industry is not only exciting for the city’s residents but also beneficial for local businesses. He explains, “From supplying flooring for gyms to seeing our products featured as part of the sets for movies that will be seen around the world, it has been both surreal and fascinating for our team, which is based in the Hillington area of the city.”

McKay also hopes to see more big-name movies being filmed in Glasgow in the future, which would create more job opportunities and generate revenue for local businesses. Sprung Gym Flooring is located at 51 Watt Road, Hillington, and their products can be found on their website, www.gym-flooring.com.
