The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) is proud to confirm that Carol Avard, of the Avard Law Firm, has successfully renewed her certification as a Social Security Disability advocate. The NBTA was created to establish an objective framework to showcase an attorney’s expertise and experience in trial law, benefiting both the legal profession and its clients.

Carol Avard belongs to a select group of solicitors who have demonstrated their commitment to enhancing the standards of the legal profession. By completing an exacting application process, Ms Avard helps ensure that consumers of legal services can confidently select qualified and experienced legal practitioners.

Attaining NBTA certification involves a comprehensive evaluation process, including proof of substantial trial experience, submission of peer and judicial references attesting to the candidate’s competence, completion of continuing legal education, and confirmation of good professional standing.

Board Certification is widely regarded as the most stringent and reliable honour available to attorneys. These certifications are exclusively offered by non-profit organisations committed to safeguarding the public’s ability to choose capable legal counsel.

Carol Avard holds an ABE from Harvard University and is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. She is licensed to practise in Florida and Massachusetts and holds the following affiliations and credentials:

The U.S Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals
The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida
The United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts
U.S. Court of Appeals for Veteran’s Claims
The United States Supreme Court
Board of Directors National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR); 2013-2015
Florida Justice Association; 2016
Commission Member on the Social Security Disability Law Specialty Program Commission, for the National Board of Trial Advocacy; 2018-Present
Harvard Club of Naples Member
Attorney Broker Massachusetts Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers – Active License

Board-certified attorneys represent only about three per cent of the legal profession in the United States. Ms Avard is among this elite group who have taken the time to prove their proficiency in their specialty area and earn this recognition.
